How to do Smith Machine Calf Raise

Have the bar of a Smith machine adjusted to a suitable height and place a weight plate below it. Stand on the plate with the balls of your feet and have the bar on the back of your shoulders. Hold the bar with your palms forward and unrack it. Push through the balls of your feet to raise your heels off the plate. Flex your calf at the point of maximum contraction, keeping your knees extended. Pause for one or two count before returning slowly to the initial position.
